High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. I became quite a Burlington bagel addict during my senior year at UVM...basically went every weekend at least once. I mean whats better than a breakfast sandwich to cure that hangover. :-) I was definitely not the only one because there was usually a line going out the door...Don't worry, it goes by quickly... They have a wide variety of bagels from spinach/herb, cranberry granola, pumpermickle, sunflower, salt, and a number of others....My favorite is spinach/herb...so good! It has a great flavor to it...The everything bagel is good too, topped with tons of garlic, poppy seed, onion, and salt. I wasn't a huge fan of the blueberry, it lacked some flavor but maybe I got a bad one? The bagels are soft even after they are toasted....I'm not a cream cheese person but they have a wide variety as well. Strawberry, scallion, spicy mexican, and even tofutti... I usually get the breakfast sandwich with egg/cheese/sausage..They cook everything right in front of you so it comes out piping hot. The eggs are real, no fake stuff and you can choose from a 4-5 kinds of cheese. They are a great value for what you pay...$4 They have a couple of other sandwich combos too for those looking for a deli meat style sandwich...If you aren't in the mood for a bagel, dont worry they have wraps, salads, and pasta salads...They also have some pastries (muffins, fruit bars) and serve coffee...Definitely check it out!

The food and bagels are decent and a nice selection of bagels but the dining area needs a lot of work and the place is pretty dirty...made me wonder what the kitchen looked like...ewwww!

Bagels bagels bagels! I used to frequent this place a couple years back and had the opportunity to stop in again yesterday morning. The bagel inventory was well stocked (nothing worse the selecting your flavor to find they are out), and the line was surprisingly short. In times past (the lunch hour) it's been a bit of a mad house trying to get a bagel sandwich or place an order. They always have 3 or 4 staff running the bagel counter though and the service can be a little hit or miss. I've had stellar service and other times not so much. The bagels themselves are pretty big -- and if you order with cream cheese or any sandwich fillings, they definitely load it up (which sometimes results in difficulty eating which depending on who's eating can be a good or bad thing). They also have a small section for day old items at a significantly reduced price, a cooler with salads, pastas, fruits, yogurt, chips, drinks and pastries-- anything to complete your meal. If you haven't had the chance to try them out, grab a bagel, one of their homemade pastries, and a drink and and enjoy in their open cafe space! My only suggestion: why isn't there a Montreal spice flavor??

I love this place. Certainly my favorite place in town for bagels. The consistency of the bagels is chewy and substantial. Great taste. Good variety of flavor. Expect to wait in line on the weekends as seating is limited and demand is high. Lunch is also busy.

Mmmm. Just had a bacon, egg, Swiss cheese bagel with a coffee and cinnamon roll. Delicious.

Unfortunately, time after time I've encountered rude female counter staff here. Ok bagel if you must.

Phenomenal. I go with the Vermont Country Bagel with lite veggie every time. Bagel heaven.

My partner and I cannot pass up a good bagel. Driving home from a weekend trip hiking, we were excited to see a bagel place and had to stop in. It was pretty busy but the line went fast. Good selection of bagels, and really nice selection of bagel sandwiches. He got lox on a whole wheat and I was adventurous and went with one that had cheese, bacon, turkey and apples (wow!) on a rye. We also got six bagels to take home and maple walnut spread. The sandwiches were more than we'd normally pay. I thought mine was good but nothing special. He liked his. The bagels we got to go were a bit stale (we tried them within an hour). The spread was yummy. We also got an iced hazelnut with soy milk that was delicious. Over twenty-five dollars though which is expensive for the quality and quantity. Nice to try, but I wouldn't make a special detour to try them again if in the area.

We went here two mornings in a row for breakfast, and there is a reason, and judging by the constant queue out the door and stream of people going in and out, it was clear to us that this was one of the locals' favorites: - Lake Champlain sandwich: D ordered this on a sesame seed bagel the first time, then on a sunflower seed bagel on the second visit (pictured), and it was apparently very, very good! - The Denver breakfast roll: I had this on everything bagel the first time, then switched to toasted bread the second time, as I found the bagel hard to chew, which is also why I'm not crazy about bagels in general. Anyway, this was awesome both times, especially good the second time obviously. Cooked freshly with good ingredients, and at $4.50, I think we can all agree that it's a great value! I enjoyed seeing what the locals were wearing and all those people getting a bag of a dozen day-old bagels discounted to $3 or something. Plenty of seating and and parking, this was one of the best finds in Burlington.

Went in today for lunch. Staff was friendly as usual during my visits. Bagels were flavorful and had plenty of cream cheese. They got us through the line quick. My fiancé who previously didn't care for BBB said today everything was very good.

Best place in Burlington to grab a quick breakfast. Their bagels are amazing, particularly the Asiago Red Pepper and the Whole Wheat Everything. Best low-fat veggie cream cheese I've ever had in my life. The breakfast sandwiches with eggs are also really good but I love the veggie cream cheese so much that it's hard for me to not just stick to a standard bagel with cc. But they have amazing veggie sausage here.... the eggs/veggie sausage/cheese bagel sandwich is HUGE and delicious. I know this may sound a little redic, but one of my fav parts of being in Burlington for work is getting breakfast from here.

  • Brian C.

Went here for a quick breakfast with a small group. Very poluar place, line was out the door. I ended up getting bacon egg and cheese on a sunflower bagel. Pretty good. The selection of bagels was very diverese and had some flavors that are very uncommon. I also got a cheddar and dill bagel with cream cheese to save for later. Very good as well. They also had a ton of cream cheese flavors, but i stuck with plain. They have an outdoor area to sit down, but it was very overgrown. Might go again, but if i was closer to burlington, rise and shiner is where its at.

Prices are awesome, tried a $3 smoothie and their bagels are always so yummy.

Just went there now. Cheap low-quality ingredients. Flavorless bagels, compared to other local bagels like Brueggers. Slow, grouchy service. Low quality espresso in my latte. And to top it off, the bagel tasted stale, like it sat there since yesterday. Terrible!

  • Gina C.

Just arrived at work after my first Burlington Bagel visit-- great success. Ordered an egg & cheese on an ASIAGO & ROASTED RED PEPPER BAGEL-- this bagel is pure genius, & they don't skimp you on the asiago. Flavor combo is great-- I would've even eaten it had it been pre-masticated. Also got a double nonfat latte-- all together it was $6.11. Tad steep but would've only been $5 had I gotten a normal coffee. Not too bad for a quick breakfast. As compared to some other bakeries in the area (Bagel Factory in S.Burlington, for instance), the bagel selection at Burlington Bagel is relatively small. It almost doesn't matter, they have all the essentials & even a few fun flavors (see above. nooommmm). They offer some breakfast pastries, salads & espresso drinks as well.

Standard issue bagels, but they have sundried tomato spread. That means you can get the best bagel sandwich there is: sundried tomato spread and veggie cream cheese. They carry Speeder & Earl's coffee, which is a nice alternative to the Green Mountain stuff you see most everywhere else. Good salads (tuna mac, pesto tortellini, chef salads) and baked goods as well.

    (3)
  • Jasmine A.

As a bagel snob, I have to say they aren't half bad. Pleasant surprise in Vermont. We also had some tuna pasta salad stuff which was very good also.

bagels are good, but the service feels cold. The sandwiches are really good, and the service staff is so so.

if your looking for a new lunch spot, burlington bagel bakery is a great place to go. while the lines do get quite busy during lunch hours, it is well worth the wait. prices are quite reasonable. i myself always order the vermonster, which comes to $5.25. most of their bagel sandwiches are priced around $5.00 give or take $0.50.

    (4)
  • Tina C.

Their bagels are okay, definitely not the New York style, which is the kind I love. For some reasons, their bagels taste a bit powdery to me, and just a bit better than the one from grocery store. But if you're a fan of bagels that are soft with no texture, you might enjoy them.

  • Carly H.

I find this to be the best traditional Bagel place in the Burlington area. They don't just offer cream cheese and butter, you can get a breakfast sandwich all day long (the eggs aren't cooked fresh but they are real eggs), sandwiches, soup and bagel combo, daily specials, smoothies, wraps, home-made baked goods, soup, muffins, cookies and more You can pretty much have anything on the menu any way you like it and if that doesn't hit the spot you can create your own. . The staff is very friendly, most of the time they are so busy and have so much to keep track of in there head they may not appear to be super warm, but they are a bunch of really nice people. Some of my Fav's: Portabella melt with american cheese Longtrail Everything bagel with Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese Chicken Salad with veggies, bacon and balsamic Soup and Bagel combo (all the soups are home-made)

Hands-down the BEST bagels!!! I'm from Jersey and I've had supposedly great New York style bagels. However, they've got nothing on Vermont. I go to Vermont every year, and my one staple place to go is Burlington Bagel. I've tried almost every style they make and they're all perfection. Amazing flavor, crunchy outside, chewy inside... pair it with any of the outstanding spreads and breakfast is done. Or get any of their sandwiches... I highly recommend the Vermonster. Go early in the morning and get them fresh out of the oven and there's no need to toast. I promise you won't be disappointed!

    (5)
  • Taylor S.

They make an excellent plain bagel- very soft and doughy inside. The pumpkin bagels in the fall are so good you pine for them all year. I miss this place!

Awesome! Some of the best bagels I have had, freshly made, nice and soft and chewy.

I have been eating bagels from here for over 15 years - and they really haven't changed much. They have great bagel sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. Lots of different bagel varieties to choose from. It can get pretty busy, but even then the wait isn't very long. It's nothing fancy, just a good bagel bakery.

    (4)
  • William E.

Stopped by here this morning for a bagel & coffee. All the bagels are cooked on-site and you can taste that difference on the first bite. I had a whole wheat everything bagel w/ vegetable cream cheese and it was fantastic. Coffee was very good and very hot. Skip Starbucks and go here instead.

    (4)
  • Brian M.

Yum! The bagels and cream cheese here are very good. Some people I have heard are confused by the ordering process: Walk in go to the counter (after waiting in line) give your order. step back and wait for it. take your prepared food to the cashier tell them what you got pay If it works, you can pay before getting your food also... It's a great bagel place. And don't be afraid of the line - it moves quickly. We have also had lunch at Burlington Bagel Bakery. It is good. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but I do remember liking it :)

Conveniently located right on route 7, the Burlington Bagel Bakery turned out to be a solid breakfast option for myself and the girlfriend while venturing out in city. Our hotel was about a mile away and didn't serve anything remotely good for breakfast and preferring to get an early start to the day with a lighter breakfast, we found this place one evening while driving back. I immediately went back to the hotel room and looked it up. The reviews were decent and we decided to check it out the following morning, on a Monday. We arrived around 9:30AM the next day and parked in the lot upfront. There was a pretty long line but it moved quickly as the five or six staff members in charge of taking orders and preparing the bagels worked tirelessly and quickly. The menu in front of us was a bit overwhelming. The bagels are made in house along with the various kinds of cream cheese spreads that they offer. They have all kinds of bagels; in fact probably the most diverse selection I've ever seen. I decided to get the one that was studded with sunflower seeds and have it toasted with some of their bacon cream cheese spread. It came out great and everything tasted fresh. The girlfriend enjoyed hers as well along with the cup of coffee that she got. Despite being packed, we didn't struggle to find a seat. There's a lot of traffic in and out with a high turnover on the tables inside. This was a clean, friendly and affordable spot which made for a quick and enjoyable breakfast. I would definitely go back when in the area if needed.

The service here was awful and they were very rude. I went to the register paid for my sandwich then waited ten minutes and still no good meanwhile everyone else behind me got there food. The girl then told me well you didn't order your food in the right place. There is no sign saying order here. I'm sorry a first time customer ( and last time customer) didn't know the proper protocol for getting food here. Only saving grace was the food was pretty good

We have been long time customers of Klinger's, the Bagel Bakery has been there a long time and we occasionally go there, and I think it is good. Well Klinger's has been not so good lately...their sandwiches have really lost their taste and quality. Last week I had a ham and cheese at Klinger's it was awful, a piece of boiled ham that tasted of nothing but salt and mustard, minuscule amount of lettuce and a dot of unripe tomato. Needless to say after a few bites it was ditched. Today we stopped at the Bagel Bakery, I had the most delicious ham and cheese sandwich freshly made, piles of baked ham and Swiss lots of sliced apples, lettuce an tomato. My husband had a panini that looked equally delicious. So goodbye Klinger , hello Bagel Bakery.

I used to go to Bagel Market religiously when I visited from NYC. Then I met Burlington Bagel. It was love at first sight. I came here to give Burlington Bagel a 5 Star review and decided to get my fav Bagel right beforehand. And then they dropped to 3 stars. Bagel, Hummus with Veggies Why 5 Stars? 7/3/10 Burlington Bagel was (Emphasis on WAS) unique in a way I've never seen. When I ordered a Hummus with Veggie bagel, they layered on every veggie they could find. This bagel was DELICIOUS! From my Photo, it had Sprouts, Onions, Tomatoes, Carrots, Lettuce, Green Peppers... and prob more. Now - what happened to drop them to 3 stars? 2/20/11Hummus with Veggie. I was told I could pick 3 veggies. If it's going to be the same as Bagel Market, I might as well just go to the best!. The only thing that set Burlington bagel apart was the LOAD of veggies they used to put on. And they loaded up on Now it's just a Bagel Market competitor... a losing competitor. The Veggie cream cheese here is better than Bagel Market but Bagel Market is the clear winner in terms of Bagels.

Best bagels I've had in a while. I got a special with eggs avocado bean salsa cheddar cheese and pico. Amazing! Also took home a bakers dozen n some olive pimento cream cheese. .. oh and the berry smoothies are fantastic too! I wish I lived closer.

OMG delicious bagel sandwiches! This place has the right idea for a deli: If you make great sandwhiches, you really don't need to care about the little things like ambiance. I don't really care that it's not that inviting inside cause the delicious bagel sandwich makes up for that. The bagels themselves are good and I moved here from NYC, so my bagel standards are pretty high. Definitely beats the other NY-style bagel places around town. Only downside is it's way outside of town :( Too far away to satisfy my bagel cravings on a regular basis.

A great stop before hittin the mountain. Super fresh bagels and some awesome spreads to go with them. Beware though, they load the cream cheese on there so you might want to ask them to go a little light or be prepared to scrape some off. They also have some GMCR coffee ready to rock so you can make it through the drive to the mountain.

Always good, but sometimes great! Stopping at Burlington Bagel on my way to work makes my hour-long drive seem not so bad, especially if I am lucky enough to get there when the bagels are still super fresh. The staff is very friendly and put plenty of cream cheese on their bagels.

Today I discovered that there's nothing like a bagel sandwich before a hike. Friendly staff, especially the bearded dude, he'll even take all the sesame seeds off of your sesame seed bagel if you ask him to (not that I did, but he said it has been requested). Plenty of seating, standard bagel shop ambiance. Clean. Sunflower Seed Bagel with Turkey, Pepper Jack, Cucumber, Tomato, Shredded Carrot, Alfalfa Sprouts, and Garlic Mayo, $4.95 - Cucumber gave the whole sandwich a good crunch, lots of turkey and the garlic mayo was AMAZING (I love garlic). I'll say that the garlic mayo made the sandwich. And the bagel was good too. Soft and chewy the way I like my bagels. Lake Champlain with Asiago Cheese Bagel (Lox and Cream cheese with some other stuff I don't remember), ~$5 - My friend got this and she really liked it... i didn't take a bite but it certainly looked tasty. They also had these brownie looking things heavy on the toppings that looked like they were to die for. Dunno if they're any good but again, they looked tasty.

The Princess and I stopped in to grab a bite on our way back to Stowe and had some tasty treats here. Friendly engaging staff, prices that are appropriate, wide selection of carb-tastic sandwhiches that satisfy those urges to jam lunch meat, freash veggies, excellent vermont cheese on a toasted breakfast pastry. I won't drive from home to get it, but If I'm in the area, I sure as hell will.

They make the most amazing asiago cheese bagel! Their bagels have just the right texture. Not so chewy that your jaw hurts after eating (like a few other local bagel places). I highly recommend the asiago bagel toasted with spicy Mexican cream cheese. Their spicy mex is fantastic and really not as spicy as it sounds. I go here about once or twice per month and they treat me as if I'm a much more frequent regular. Very friendly staff.

I've been going to the BBB regularly for almost a decade now. It's one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite. Traditionally the value has been great as their prices have historically been lower than the competition, without sacrificing quality. I still think that's their intent, but a recent price increase puts them more in line with the competition. The staff is super friendly and cares about the quality of the food they prepare. There are a few exceptions I've seen over time, but they never seem to stay for long. I particularly like how they cook items like the eggs and bacon that go on your breakfast sandwich to order. You can taste the difference. I also saw them introduce bakery items like cookies, brownies, muffins, etc. WOW. Not only were they good day one, but they keep improving them. Cream cheese frosting that tastes like cream cheese. Peanut butter frosting that tastes like peanut butter. Strawberry muffins with giant chunks of sweet fruit. I've seen them introduce a lot of other products too, all one at a time. Salads, paninis, soup, espresso drinks, etc. Considering the slow deliberate way they release new items, it's safe to guess they're carefully developing the product first before putting it out there. Overall, you can tell that the owners take great pride in continuous improvement while still keeping prices affordable. Maybe that's why there's always a line out the door on the weekends.

One of my favorite spots in Burlington (well, South Burlington). It's a little far away from downtown Burlington. It's located on Shelburne Road, close to the shopping plaza with Lowe's Hardware and Hannaford. The quality of the bagels here are great though they won't compare to those in NYC. When you come here, you need to get a bagel sandwich. My favorites are the breakfast bagels (around 3-4 dollars depending on what you get) and Reuben (5.99). Compared to those ridiculously overpriced joints in downtown Burlington, this place is definitely well priced and the cost:quality ratio is excellent. I do not recall exactly what the app is called but it's something along the lines of "college deals." If you have this app, you get two sandwiches for the price of one. Plenty of parking. Friendly service. The line can be sometimes long but they move very quickly as there are multiple girls working behind the counter. They take AMEX too.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and were very impressed not only with the selection but the food itself. Great bagels, great cream cheeses. Can't wait to go back for more. The staff was friendly and fast even though the line was out the door.

I went to get a bagel to go and was happy about all the creme cheese flavors and bagel varieties, but when I got home, I opened the package and found that they hadn't given me my creme cheese, just a toasted bagel. Not impressed, but I did't feel like going all the way back there. So just check to make sure you get what you want.

I have to limit myself to stopping in here only 2X a week. I LOVE THESE BAGELS.
